Blog 14 The Brain and Learning

I've come to learn the different functions the brain operates in the human mind. The brain controls about every action that we do. It ranges from vision to movements, or reactions or to retaining memory. when it comes to learning, there are certain explanations to why individuals have different learning abilities. The brain gains knowledge by memorizing the objective it has been taught. It has been proved that some people are able to learn more quickley than others because they might possess more brain power. Overall, the brain is learning because it is like a boss that teaches us how to walk, see, or move everyday.

Female and Male Dissection Movie Blog 11

The video on the human dissection really surprised me because I never would have thought that the surgeons would be so calm about it. I found it difficult to learn because the main guy that was speaking had a horrible accent. However I did find it beneficial by actually viewing body organs and certain parts instead of imagining them. When they did the dissection of the male reproductive system I was shocked to actually find out that the uretha was huge. Connected to the entire male reproductive organs. Overall I found the dissection to be quite astonishing.

Blog 10 Urine A Helpful Diagnostic Tool.

Urine is a helpful diagnostic tool because urine protein patterns can serve as diagnostic tool for testing. Urine samples can detect a lot of dangerous things such as clamitia. Also it is useful for detecting almost anything. In class we used urine strips and examined whether or not there was a change of color after we tested our urine. In a physical, doctors always use sample of urine to determine if the individual has used drugs of any sort. Plus urine example are very reliable, accurate, with quick results.

Blog 9 Pig Dissection

Out of all the dissections the class has done, I found the pig disecction to be the most easiest. My group really did a good job dissecting the pig, and I got a up close look at great examples of body organs. When I disecctd the mink, I really did not feel as if I got to see anything, but the pig was easy and clear. I even got the chance to see an example of a brain and the formation of the small and large intestine. I was not to disgusted with the dissection because I was to busy actually trying to view all organs possible. It was not a human disscetion but it helped create a more better idea of the different types of systems that the human body posseses.

Blog 8 Digestive System What I Learned

I learned that the digestive system is made up of the digestive tract or a series of organs that help break down and absorb food. Organs that make up the digestive tract are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus. I learned the importance of the digestive system is to break down food into smaller molecules in order for it to be absorbed into the blood and carried throughout the body. Digestion is the process by which food and drink are broken down into their smallest parts so the body can use them to build and nourish cells and to provide energy. It is a very long and complicated process that involves many gastric juices.

Blog # 7 Protecting Your Digestive System

Our digestive system is a work horse whenever we eat at any moment. Yet their are ways to protect our digestion and to keep it healthy.Taking fiber everyday helps lower the risks of constipation, digestive problems, arthritis, dysmenorrhea, and colon cancer. Not only that, but their are ways to even protect it from bacteria. H. pylori from your stomach is an effective treatment for ulcers and other diseases in work with the digestive system. But researchers have concluded that eradication of H. pylori from the stomach encourages the formation of a more normal mucosal lining and may help to protect against stomach cancer. This is just one of the many ways.

Protect Yourself From Diseases #6

Disease are most common in poor undustrialized countries and because of lack funds, disease are inevitable for experiment and treatments. But since I live in the U.S, many diseases are shared by drug usage and sexually transmitted intercourse. For me I feel that my protection might slighly be different from others. For instance I can make sure I have all my shots and vaccines that will protect me from such disease like hepititus. I should not so drugs at all, or anything involving needles. I should also pay more close attention to the exchanges of fluid in intercourse or anything. Checking in with the doctor for any new vaccines is also a good way to protect myself. Basically I would say that any individual must be aware of themselves when it comes to infectious diseases. Make sure you are on the look out of others around you.

Blog About Allergies #5

Allergies is a malfunction in the immune system. This occurs when there is an activation of too many white blood cells including antibody IgE that turns out in a result of inflammatory response. Allergies are caused by either a host factor or an inviormental factor. Host is like something having to do with heredity and race, or even sex. Such normal symptoms are high fever, asthma, and food allergies. The problem has to come within a disorder in the body where it is weak. Most of it has to do with the issue of genetics.

Blog 3 Mechanisms That Control Breathing

One major mechanism of breathing is Ventilation. The two are inhalation and exhalation whiach are controlled by the nervous system and respiratory muscles. In inhalation the air moves in causing the lungs and ribcage to expand. By doing this, the diaphram contracts downward because of inhalation. The mechanism of exhalation is Diaphram relaxes upward, the lungs and ribcage compress, and eventually the air is let our through the mouth. I would say that the lungs, oxygen and air ventilation are the major keys when it comes to controlling any humans breathing.

What Scares Me About the Plague Video Blog 4

The Plauge video that I saw in class was a very interesting video. Mainly what got me was how bacteria becomes resistant to certain antibiotics over time. Eventually, many of the antibiotics that are used to protect ourselves from diseases do not work anymore. This means that bacteria has evolutionized and have become stronger to resist the antibiotics. Yet at the same time, the video made me apprehensive because the video is stressing how antibodies are not working anymore. It makes mw wonder about my health issues as for everyone else.

Facinates and Confusion of Cardiovascular System Blog 2

First of all the cardiovascular system should facinate every human being. What I find amazing is how so many organs and different body parts work together and do lots of work just to keep your heart breathing. A heart beat seems so simple because we are living daily and breathing is easy. Then when the entire process is explained to me, there is a buzz as to how crazy the system works. What i find confusing is probably learning why things like the ventricles, veins, and vessels do what they do which is always the confusing part to me when it comes to the human body.

Blog About Health Project Blog 1 Semester 2

My health project was going ok until I discovered that lifting wieght was affecting my performance in basbeall negatively. At basbeall practice, I throw about 200 baseballs a day, so the lifting made my arms sore and I was not able to throw a basbeall with extra pop or accuracy as before. So that really ruined my health project because I had to stop the lifting portion of my diet, but the gaining wieght goal is pretty good because I have at least gained two pounds which raises me from 142; to 144. If anything I have gained more muscle from my forearms than any other part of my body.
